I was going to put up a journal dedicated to this month's cancer awareness project, but of course, when I googled it, I came up with multiple different types of cancers for this month's awareness. It's only fitting as there are more than 12 types of cancer out there. So here goes on the first one:
September Ovarian Cancer Awareness
Did you know that in 2000 there were 6,734 cases of ovarian cancer diagnosed in the United Kingdom? In 2004 in the United States it is estimated that there was 25,500 cases. Turns out that 1 in 50 women will get ovarian cancer. Over half of these women will die from the disease. There is currently no reliable method to detect ovarian cancer.
Symptoms: pain in the abdomen, feeling bloated, trouble urinating, fatigue, weight loss. These are all symptoms of other diseases as well, which accounts for how hard it is to diagnose this cancer in time for the cure.

So in other words, ovarian cancer... it's bad, it's silent, and you may not know you have it until it's too late. Ladies and Gentlemen: do your part on this! Be Aware of it, if you or a loved one has worries about this type of Cancer, get them to a doctor. It may save a life!
Anyone out there who has stories about cancer is welcome to post comments here about it in hopes of spreading awareness. You may also note the group and we may feature it in the journal!
